Huh, what?

... And that's what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown

At the time I posted this, I didn't have time to write much of an explanation or description so I'll fix that now:I always liked the speech that Linus gives to explain Christmas to Charlie Brown in "A Charlie Brown Christmas." For those of you outside the U.S. who may never have seen this, it's an animated children's television special that has run every year since its creation in 1965. As a kid, my family rarely went to church so I think this show, probably more than anything else, helped me understand what is supposed to be behind Christmas. This shot is of my wife's childhood bible, the kind that grandmothers used to give to grandkids. My biblical knowledge being kind of weak, I had to do a bit of internet research to figure out where in the bible to find the passage that Linus recites. (It turns out that it's Luke, Chapter 2, roughly verses 11-20. The Peanuts folks did a slight edit of the King James translation.) Lighting for the shot is natural window light. Canon 20D, EF 50mm f/2.5 Macro lens. Merry Christmas to All!
